A high desert dweller, Puspa’s eye is sharp and depicts whimsical moments in this other-worldly terrain that is her home. Her characters, found and produced, human and inanimate, of the earth or of a dream stir in us the impulse to see what lies at the edge of our own expectations.
Puspa Lohmeyer grew up in Bali and Germany and left New York City for Bisbee, AZ in 2005. She and her husband created one of this town’s most charming music and art venues, The Courtyard. Her photography is in the Ford Photography collection and has been published in Territory magazine. One of her films “The Sensories” was on display at the Tucson Museum of Art in 2021.
Puspa is self-taught with the help of mentors and peers. Much of her work is taken on editorial assignments, during her travels, local musician shoots, and other artist collaborations.
