|Chris Rush’s artistic output includes installation, painting and drawing. His work has been featured in gallery and museum exhibitions throughout the United States. Rush is the recipient of numerous public art commissions, including an award by the City of Tucson, Tucson Park Avenue Basin project (2008), comprising a newly constructed flood wall decorated with a series of portraits of residents of the Barrio and San Antonio neighborhoods. He has won several grants including the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation of New Mexico Fellowship and Residency (2006); and completed residencies in Italy (2011) and India (2010, 2012). His work has been the subject of articles, critical reviews and scholarly publications such as Re-Presenting Disability: Activism and Agency in the Museum, (2010) and Stare (2009). Chris Rush’s work is in the permanent collections of the Phoenix Art Museum, The Tucson Museum of Art and the City of Tucson and in private and corporate collections in the United States and Europe.
Rush currently lives and works in Tucson, Arizona and Ashland, Oregon.
