Cynthia Miller: Paintings
FEBRUARY 25 – APRIL 5, 2011
Reception: 5:30 – 7:30 pm Friday, March 4th, 2011

Opening at the Temple Gallery at the historic Temple of Music and Art, is Cynthia Miller's world of the moving still-life, filled with the patterns and dipped colors of the world at home. The lively new paintings on paper and canvas are an extension of her earlier much-loved Domestica Series, and include bursts of objects we gather around us: furniture, tulips, Turkish rugs, pottery jars and teapots. Be it real or imagined, Miller's exuberant work makes up a gallery of living—harmoniously, happily—somewhere between painting and poetry.
Miller's show is running concurrently with the Arizona Theatre Company's production of Neil Simon's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Lost in Yonkers, another look at our domesticated life.
